Jackson Turning into Batman and Some More HOT Events – August 8 ’12

Good morning Divas!! Not only until I got the boys on their busses to camp a few hours ago did it fully register in my mind what ACTUALLY happened in my household last night. So, Oliver was attempting to make a “warm orange juice” for himself in the kitchen without asking for help or telling anyone– he loves to do this and feel like a big boy– and accidentally hit the dial on the stove that turned on the gas (sans fire). Our ENTIRE apartment was overcome with the ridiculously strong aroma of gas. As my brain was trying to comprehend and process what even happened, Jackson, my little hero, took the action of a grown man!! He said, “Mom, relax, it’s ok,” scooped up our puppy, Jedi, opened some windows, and told everyone in my house, “Get out quickly, and take the stairs.” It was the sweetest, coolest thing I have ever seen a child do. Once we informed the workers about what was going on and they were in the apartment getting everything back to normal, we went to Off-the-Wall for frozen yogurt where, still in superhero mode, Jackson took my $15 and responsibly handled fetching the frozen yogurt for his brother, me and himself. And, by responsibly, I mean that he was sure to get an extra-large with 6,000 toppings for himself (it’s ok, he deserved it ;) ). Brian and I, of course, made sure to give Oliver the “never-go-near-this-section-of-the-kitchen-alone-ever-again” spiel. Overall, it was a classically hilarious/chaotic night in which I realized how much more mature my little boys are becoming; they’re both turning into such awesome little men– Ollie trying to get his own before-bed juice when usually I get it for him, and Jackson protecting his family. It was all nerve-racking but super-sweet. :) Color war starts at Oliver’s camp tomorrow and he can’t wait; that’s always the most fun part of the camp season. I’m also super proud of Jax for hitting a WALK OFF TRIPLE in his baseball game at camp last week!!!! It won the game for his team. His grandpa called me to tell me because he went to see the game and I told the whole hair salon what happened! So proud of him. He’s getting too handsome too; look at my new favorite shot of us from the Camp DivaLysscious event this weekend which is now framed and on a shelf at home!!

Speaking of excelling in the athletic department, I was BEAMING when I saw the cover of the New York Post this morning; the headline said “STAR OF DAVID: Jewish girl wins gold, honors slain Israeli Olympians.” What a talented and inspirational girl Aly Raisman is (and what a cute nickname Star of David is).

On a lighter note, I’m dying to see this new Meryl Streep movie, “Hope Springs.” It got an awesome review in PULSE, which says that while Meryl Streep is amazing (as always), Tommy Lee Jones is supposed to be insanely phenomenal. I haven’t seen a quality comedy/drama mix in a while, and everyone is raving about how Hollywood got this one perfect, so I’m anxious to see it. I’m thinking of promising myself a movie a week, at least until this hear wave leaves NYC! boys saw Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days yesterday and RAVED about it… I definitely didn’t rave about how ridiculously expensive movie theatre POPCORN has become! Jackson said it was the “best movie” he has “EVER SEEN” and Ollie was giggling throughout the whole film. :)

I’ve also been gearing up for The Siren Book Launch event in the Hamptons on the 15th!! It’s going to be a fun night for yet another steamy erotica novel. Tiffany Reisz‘s book is sure to be a hit with all of the moms– take my word for it. Speaking of hot events, check out this video Heidi Green made of the Winemaker’s Dinner Event!!! It’s amazing!!

On a more serious note, I’ll be dedicating a blog post soon to a health issue that has been recently affecting my life and that I’ve been dealing with so stay tuned for that (I am OK, FYI)!!

“Love knows no limit to its endurance, no end to its trust, no fading of its hope; it can outlast anything. Love still stands when all else has fallen.”

:) Xoxo,
