Enjoying Every Bit of Summer! – July 16 ’12
To all my friends who told me it was going to rain this weekend: You were wrong!! What rain?! We had an absolutely gorgeous weekend at the beach. It was HOT and humid and the boys had a blast cooling off in the water. The rain didn’t start until long after we were back home. Lucky us
I also was so excited to start my new beach read, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I can already tell it’s going to be one of my favorite books; I can’t put it down! It’s such a captivating suspense novel about an unexpected topic: marriage. I can’t wait to find out what happened to Amy…
On a more serious note, my uncle, whom I am extremely close to, was rushed to LIJ on Friday afternoon due to an emergency (His name is Ricky but I call him Uncle Louis; everyone in my family has a nickname. Don’t ask me why!). Luckily, he will be completely fine which, you can imagine, we are all extremely relieved about. On my way to visit him at the hospital, I could not resist buying him this “You call it madness, we call it family” sign. It sums up our family PERFECTLY
So, I went to see Savages with Brian a few days ago and, as much as I know that virtually everyone I have spoken to absolutely loved it, I didn’t think it was that great. It was ok. BUT Blake Lively is ridiculously gorgeous and talented, especially on the big screen. It was nice to come home and see a movie in a cool, dark theatre after my busy day at the Roberta Freymann/Baby Buggy event in East Hampton, WHICH, by the way, was a HUGE success! It was absolutely fabulyss and everyone has such an amazing time. SO happy that the money raised is going to benefit my favorite charity!!
Anyway, can’t wait to go to camp this week and see Ollie’s dance pow wow– he’s been practicing those moves non-stop, of course. Dancing is his absolute favorite. Jackson is also have an incredible time at camp and comes home so content and exhausted at the end of every day from all those SPORTS!
Hope everyone stays cool and has an absolutely wonderful weekend!!
My food for thought today: “Do not follow the ideas of others, but learn to listen to the voice within yourself…”
