A 5th Birthday & The 4th of July – July 2 ’12

Let me start this blog post off by saying that I don’t care about TomKat and Katie Holmes’ sham marriage! What I do care about is their child Suri. I hope at this time she is surrounded with lots of love.

That being said, I could NOT have asked for a more beach perfect weekend! Even Elmo came to visit the beach this weekend.

It was a great weekend all around. I got to have dinner near my old stomping grounds, at Mother Kelly’s in Cedarhurst– always delysscious! It was great to have such amazing weather this weekend, except for yesterday evening! The craziest thing happened to Jackson and I. At around 6 pm yesterday evening, a heavy rain and wind came in. ALL of the beach chairs and tables were blowing away in the wind. Jackson and I were convinced that a tornado, “like the one in Wizard of Oz” was taking over the beach club!!

I was also able to take a breather on Friday afternoon and head to the movies. Brian and I went to see the movie “Ted” and  absolutely LOVED it. I recommend that if you haven’t seen it yet, you should RUN not walk to go see it. I cannot remember the last time I laughed out loud that much. Brian was crying from laughing so hard! I also saw “Magic Mike” this weekend, too. Let’s just say that you DivaMoms would have a fun “field trip” going to see that film. Also, I definetely have a new crush on Joe Manganiello.  Bri- if you’re reading this, don’t be jealous!

Every DivaMom should check out my article in the New York Times. It answers the question “should you take a childless vacation?” The answer is – yes, yes, yes! It’s so important to get away with your husband once in awhile. I cannot wait to take my mini vaca in Atlantic City with Brian. We’re going to the new hotel Revel, supposed to be absolutely fabulyss.

I can’t believe that Oliver’s 5th birthday is tomorrow! My little Ollie pop is seriously growing up too fast. I will be heading to their camp to have a “watermelon birthday celebration.” It’s going to be cute to meet all of his camper friends.

We’re spending the 4th of July at our  beach club. There will be fireworks and a special magic show from Ollie’s favorite magician Magic Al.  I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful 4th of July!!

xoxo,
